Dhumji: This festival is celebrated mostly by Sherpa community in the month of July. This merry festival is observed with great enthusiasm in Khumbu region with the Sherpas & Lamas performing various rituals & dances with the feeling of serious & happiness.
Dumje is a Nepalese Sherpa celebration dedicated to prosperity, good health, and general well-being. This festival is celebrated for a week, Sherpas visit their local monasteries and give prayers to their gods throughout the course of the seven days.
Suanne Sankranti: This festival also normally falls on July months. This is actually celebrated on the fourth month of Nepali Calendar. In rural Nepal, this holiday is significant because people follow a unique Luto Phalne ritual.
The entire family gathers outside the house in the yard, where they light little pieces of firewood and hurl them on all sides, hoping to avoid catching luto (scabies) during the year.
