Your journey begins the moment you arrive in Kathmandu. At Tribhuvan International Airport, I or our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you’ll have time to rest and recover from your flight.

In the evening, we will meet for a detailed trip briefing where I will explain the full itinerary, trekking conditions, safety guidelines, altitude awareness, and what to expect in the coming days. This is also a great time to meet your fellow travelers and ask any questions.

A welcome dinner will introduce you to authentic Nepali cuisine and hospitality, marking the official start of your Himalayan adventure.

Day 2: Kathmandu Heritage Sightseeing

Activities: Full-day guided cultural tour
Accommodation: Premium Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast

Today we explore the cultural heart of Nepal. Kathmandu is a city filled with history, spirituality, and living traditions that go back thousands of years.

We will visit important UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world, where rituals and spiritual life continue along the banks of the Bagmati River.

Next, we explore Boudhanath Stupa, a massive and peaceful Buddhist monument surrounded by prayer wheels, monasteries, and chanting monks. This is a powerful place for reflection and calm.

We then visit Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, offering panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley along with centuries-old spiritual energy.

Finally, we explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic royal palace complex filled with temples, courtyards, and traditional architecture that reflects Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.

The day gives you a deep introduction to Nepal’s history, religion, and daily life before heading into the mountains.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,860m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

Activities: Scenic mountain flight + gentle trek
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early in the morning, we take a thrilling mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. This short flight offers your first breathtaking views of the Himalayas and lands at one of the most famous and adventurous airports in the world.

After meeting our trekking crew and organizing luggage, we begin our trek. The trail descends gently through beautiful mountain villages, prayer flags, and suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. The pace is relaxed, allowing your body to slowly adjust to the altitude and trekking rhythm.

We reach Phakding, a peaceful riverside village where we spend the night in a cozy tea house. This is your first night in the mountains, surrounded by nature, fresh air, and the sound of flowing rivers.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Activities: 5–6 hour trek
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today’s trek is one of the most important days of the journey as we enter the main gateway to the Everest region. The trail follows the river, crossing several long suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags.

We enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO-listed conservation area rich in wildlife, forests, and Himalayan landscapes.

The final climb to Namche Bazaar is steep but rewarding. As we ascend, you may catch your first clear view of Mount Everest, weather permitting. Namche is a vibrant mountain town filled with bakeries, cafés, gear shops, and stunning mountain views.

This is where the real Everest experience begins.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Activities: Short hike + cultural exploration
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Acclimatization is essential for safe trekking at high altitude. Today, we take a short hike to a nearby viewpoint such as Everest View Hotel, where you can see Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other peaks in full glory.

Later, we explore Namche Bazaar itself—visit the Mountain Museum, local markets, and cafés. This is also a good opportunity to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.

The slow pace today helps your body adjust while giving you time to enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche (3,860m)

Activities: 5–6 hour trek
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We leave Namche and follow a scenic trail with incredible views of the Himalayas. The path descends and then climbs through pine and rhododendron forests, with occasional glimpses of wildlife and prayer flags along the way.

We reach Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Everest region. This monastery sits in a stunning location surrounded by towering peaks, creating a peaceful and powerful atmosphere.

If time allows, you may witness a traditional prayer ceremony, a truly memorable cultural experience.

Day 7: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m)

Activities: 5–6 hour trek
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, the landscape becomes more rugged and alpine. We pass through traditional villages like Pangboche and gradually ascend into the wide valley of Dingboche.

The scenery opens up dramatically, revealing massive mountains like Ama Dablam and Lhotse. Dingboche is known as the “summer valley” of the Khumbu region, where locals grow barley and potatoes.

This peaceful village offers stunning views and a calm environment for rest before higher altitude days ahead.

Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Activities: Hike to Nagarjun Hill
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we take another important acclimatization day. A hike to Nagarjun Hill offers one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the region.

From the top, you can see Makalu, Lhotse, Island Peak, and the surrounding glaciers. The hike is challenging but very rewarding and helps your body adapt to the altitude.

The afternoon is free for rest, hydration, and enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings.

Activities: 5–6 hour trek
Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We continue along the Khumbu Glacier, moving into a high alpine environment with dramatic scenery. The trail passes through Dughla and a memorial site dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

This is a quiet and emotional place, reminding us of the power and challenge of the mountains.

We continue to Lobuche, surrounded by towering peaks and glacier views. The air is thin, so we walk slowly and steadily.

Accommodation: Mountain Tea House
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is one of the most exciting days of the entire journey. We first reach Gorakshep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp.

Accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking. If the listed hotels or lodges are not available, we will arrange similar standard alternatives.

In Kathmandu, Nagarkot, and Pokhara, you will stay in comfortable tourist-standard or premium hotels with private or twin-sharing rooms. During the trek, accommodation will be in locally owned tea houses offering simple but clean rooms and warm hospitality. Higher altitude lodges are more basic, but they provide everything needed for a safe and comfortable stay.

Hot showers, WiFi, and charging facilities are available in most places for an additional cost. Despite the simplicity in the mountains, the warmth of local hospitality makes the experience truly special.

Transportation and Flights

Transportation includes private vehicles, tourist transfers, and domestic flights as per itinerary. The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region.

During peak seasons, flights between Kathmandu and Lukla may operate via Ramechhap Airport. Flight schedules depend on weather conditions, and delays are common in mountain regions.

A helicopter return from the Everest region is included in this premium package, offering a safe and unforgettable aerial experience over the Himalayas.

Meals

During the trek, meals are served at tea houses along the route. The typical menu includes dal bhat (rice, lentils, vegetables), noodles, soups, fried rice, pasta, potatoes, and eggs.

Food becomes more expensive at higher altitudes due to transportation costs, but it remains fresh and energy-rich to support trekking demands.

Vegetarian options are widely available. We recommend carrying light snacks such as energy bars, nuts, and chocolate for extra energy during long trekking days.

Daily Schedule

A typical trekking day begins early with breakfast around 7:00 AM. Trekking continues for 5–7 hours depending on the route and altitude.

Lunch is taken at teahouses along the trail, and the group usually arrives at the next destination by mid to late afternoon.

Evenings are free for rest, hydration, warm meals, and acclimatization walks if needed. A steady and relaxed pace is maintained to ensure safety and altitude adaptation.

Packing and Luggage

Each trekker is allowed:

  • 1 duffel bag (carried by porter – max 10kg)
  • 1 daypack (for personal essentials)

Essential items include:

  • Warm down jacket
  • Sleeping bag (-10°C or lower recommended)
  • Waterproof jacket and pants
  • Trekking boots (well broken-in)
  • Thermal base layers
  • Gloves, hat, and sunglasses
  • Water bottle and hydration system
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Headlamp with extra batteries
  • Basic personal first aid kit

Proper packing is essential for comfort and safety in changing mountain weather conditions.

Trek Grading and Fitness

The Everest Base Camp Trek is graded moderate to challenging. No technical climbing is required, but good physical fitness and mental preparation are important.

We recommend preparing with:

  • Regular walking or hiking
  • Stair climbing
  • Light cardio training
  • Carrying a backpack during practice hikes

Acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche are included to help your body adjust to altitude safely.

Money and Tipping

There are no ATMs beyond Namche Bazaar, so carry enough Nepalese currency in cash.

Estimated daily personal expenses: NPR 3,000–3,500 per day.

Tipping is customary in Nepal:

  • Recommended: USD $6–$8 per day for guides and porters

Tipping is a meaningful way to support the local trekking staff.

Insurance and Health

Travel insurance is mandatory and must include:

  • High-altitude trekking coverage
  • Helicopter evacuation
  • Medical emergencies
  • Trip cancellation

Stay hydrated (3–4 liters daily), avoid alcohol, and follow your guide’s instructions at all times.

Altitude Sickness (AMS)

Altitude sickness can occur above 2,500m. Symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue.

Prevention:

  • Ascend slowly
  • Stay hydrated
  • Follow acclimatization days
  • Inform your guide immediately if symptoms appear

Descending is the only effective treatment if symptoms worsen.

Permits Required

All permits are arranged for you:

  • Sagarmatha National Park Permit
  • Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit

You will need a valid passport and passport-sized photos.

Climate and Weather

Weather in the Everest region is unpredictable and can change quickly.

  • Best seasons: March–May and September–November
  • Day temperatures: 5°C to 15°C (varies by altitude)
  • Nights: Can drop below -10°C at higher elevations

We always prepare for sun, wind, and snow conditions in a single day.

Visa Information

Most travelers can obtain a Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu Airport.

  • 15 days: USD $30
  • 30 days: USD $50
  • 90 days: USD $125

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
